Expertise and Resources

I believe that, as the client, you are the expert in your own ‘internal world’, that you have the strength and resources that you need to work through any difficulties and, with my help and support, you will be able to find and make use of these resources.

I will challenge your thought processes and where they are causing you difficulties, I will support you in identifying any changes you might make. I will also support you in identifying ways of coping with what you cannot, or choose not, to change.

Where appropriate, I will share my knowledge and experience with you in order for us to discover a way of working together that most benefits you.

 My training includes:

  • A BACP Accredited Diploma in Person-Centred (Rogerian) Counselling and Psychotherapy from Warwick University.
  • A Postgraduate Diploma in CBT Therapy (cognitive behavioural) and in Clinical Supervision from Leicester University
  • I am a Level 1 Graduate of the Institute for Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (working with Trauma)  and I am currently undertaking the Level 2 training
  • I undertake continuous professional development as required of members of BACP and this takes the form of:
    • Various short courses on specialist subjects
    • Professional conferences
    • Personal study
    • Group work with fellow professionals             

I work with Adults, Adolescents, Children, Couples and Families. and my main areas of work include:

Addiction Relationships
Bereavement and Loss Stress
Cultural Issues Suicide
Depression Trauma

My particular interest is in working with Developmental trauma both with individuals and with families
